ServiceTrade
Fall 2024 Release

servicetrade Fall 2024 Release

ServiceTrade’s Fall 2024 Release equips you with new tools and updates to streamline operations, navigate the platform more intuitively, and set your team up for success. Let’s dive into what’s recently been released, what’s coming next, and what’s planned for later.

Recently released

(available now)

We’ve recently rolled out several updates that focus on optimizing your workflows and reducing the daily friction that slows your team down. These tools are designed to help you get more done in less time, with fewer headaches:

New Dispatch & Schedule

There are few things more important to service contractors than getting the right technician to the right job at the right time. The recently released Dispatch & Scheduling experience has been completely redesigned to make it easier than ever to coordinate jobs and manage technician assignments. With advanced job filters, a live staging queue, and daily, weekly, and monthly calendar views, this update provides the tools to make smarter scheduling decisions, reduce travel time, and keep your technicians focused on the highest value work.

Tasking

Managing recurring asset maintenance can be time-consuming and error-prone. With so many different assets, each requiring specific maintenance tasks, it’s easy for things to slip through the cracks, leading to inefficiencies, missed tasks, and inconsistent service quality. That’s where Tasking comes in.

Tasking is a new feature in the ServiceTrade Core platform, available to Premium and Enterprise mechanical customers to automate and manage recurring maintenance tasks. By using predefined templates, Tasking ensures every required maintenance activity is scheduled and executed on time, with clear instructions for your technicians the moment they step on site. This means less time spent sifting through old job notes or constant back and forth with the office for guidance, and more time spent delivering consistent, high-quality service.

Coming next

We’re excited to share what’s coming next, with significant updates aimed at improving platform usability and making daily operations easier to see and manage for different team members:

New Home Experience

Previously introduced as the new Dashboard, we’re renaming this space to Home to better reflect its purpose as a customizable, central hub for your daily work. The new Home offers a completely refreshed, customizable experience that lets you see the most important insights for your role at a glance. Instead of jumping between multiple screens, you’ll be able to track job progress, review team performance, and monitor key metrics—all in one place. With an array of widgets to choose from, you can tailor the Home page to show exactly what matters most to you, making it easier to make informed decisions quickly.

This personalized view helps you prioritize high-value work, stay informed about your team’s progress, and act swiftly when something requires your attention. Whether you’re managing a team of technicians or overseeing operations, the new Home experience is designed to streamline your workflow and keep the most relevant information right in front of you.

New Nav Bar + Platform UI Refresh

Finding what you need should never slow you down. That’s why we’re rolling out a new global Navigation Bar and refreshing the overall look and feel of the platform. The Navigation Bar has been reorganized to put the most important tools and information at your fingertips, making navigation faster and more intuitive. Combined with a platform-wide UI refresh, this update brings a consistent, modern look across the platform that’s designed to help you and your team work more effectively every day.

Planned for Later

(Winter 2025)

We’re not stopping there—additional updates are coming to keep your operations running smoothly and securely.

New Timecard

The Timecard is moving into the ServiceTrade Core platform, providing a unified, consistent experience for tracking your technician’s time and expenses. You’ll still have all the functionality you’re familiar with, but now with a refreshed look that matches the rest of the platform, and the flexibility to access it from more devices when needed.

MFA + Enhanced Password Policy

Over the past year, we’ve focused on enhancing the login and authentication process to make it not only safer and faster but also more adaptable to the diverse needs of our customers. It started with the introduction of Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing seamless access to all ServiceTrade products and tools using a single set of login credentials.

Next, we added support for Corporate Identity Providers (CIP) like Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace, giving you the flexibility to manage user access through tools you’re already using. Now, in the final phase of these security enhancements, we’re introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

And if these options feel like more than your team needs, that’s perfectly fine—you’ll still have the choice to stick with a straightforward login process while benefiting from an updated password policy that keeps your user accounts secure.

Smart AI

The initial set of Smart AI capabilities—Smart Transcribe, Smart Comment, and Smart Summary—are designed to help you communicate more effectively with your customers. No more messy, hard-to-understand technician notes; Smart AI can take audio messages or quick videos captured by your technicians and convert them into clear, professional text. From there, Smart Comment can transform this information into customer-friendly language, making sure your clients receive updates they can easily understand. Finally, Smart Summary provides an organized, concise job summary, highlighting all the relevant details and context for the customer.

Make this time of year one you can actually look forward to. The Fall 2024 Release is all about turning summer stress into streamlined operations, giving you better visibility into your business, and setting your team up for success. Whether it’s optimizing your workflows, making it easier to navigate the platform, or ensuring your technicians have the tools they need to perform their best, we’re here to help you take on your busiest times of the year with confidence. Happy Fall to all and good luck out there!
