Annually, the Joint Commission releases new requirement updates with its Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals. 2023’s updates for Elements of Performance in the Fire Safety Equipment and Safety Building Features (EC 02.03.05) include:
- EP 1, Note 2: An updated list of supervisory signal devices.
- EPs 7 and 8: Deleted requirements and removed documentation icons.
- EP 11: The added requirement that fire pump supervisory signals are tested annually.
A quality Healthcare Accreditation Inspection report should list the standards referenced, as well as the latest revision.
