Our last annual event, formerly DWC, drew more than 450 attendees over 3 days. The event is back in 2027 under a new name, TradeConnect, with the same team behind it. It runs May 5-7, 2027 at the Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk in San Antonio.
If you’re weighing whether to go, or whether to send your team, these are the 5 reasons we’d give.
1. Practical takeaways for your trade
The sessions are shaped around the work you do, so you leave with ideas you can use the following Monday.
- Fire and life safety: Content centers on inspections, deficiencies, and recurring service. You’ll hear how other fire contractors improve inspection workflows, convert deficiencies, and grow recurring revenue, and you’ll leave with ways to tighten the inspection-to-repair process and give customers better visibility.
- Mechanical and HVAC: Content centers on scheduling, service agreements, and asset history. You’ll see how other mechanical contractors manage technician capacity and customer expectations, and you’ll take home practical ways to improve field-to-office handoffs, reduce billing delays, and keep work moving.
2. Peers running the same kind of business
Most contractors know their own operation well. Fewer get to compare it against contractors in other states who deal with the same deficiencies, the same PM contracts, and the same scheduling pressure.
Brian Hooper of MSI Mechanical said it was “really useful to have that interaction with other contractors from around the country.” Hallway conversations at TradeConnect tend to cover the same ground: what’s working, what stalled, and what you’d do differently.
3. Hands-on training
Workshops go past surface-level discussion. You’ll work side by side with the contractors setting the pace in your trade, which means you can ask how they handled a specific problem and see it done.
4. A look at the ServiceTrade roadmap
You’ll see what’s coming next from the people building it. Fire contractors get a closer look at how upcoming capabilities support fire protection operations, and mechanical contractors see how ServiceTrade is evolving to support complex service teams and connected workflows.
Dan Campion of Shore Point Fire Protection described the classes at previous conferences as “phenomenal for learning the new technology that’s coming out.”
5. A seat for your whole team
TradeConnect has content for every role that touches service work:
- Owners and GMs: How contractors turn service data into higher margins, more revenue per tech, and lower compliance risk.
- Service managers: Faster quotes, simpler compliance reporting, and fewer calls pulled off the floor.
- Ops and project managers: Ways to standardize execution across teams and locations so results don’t depend on who’s on shift.
- Finance and IT: Answers on integrations, ERP data integrity, and audit-ready documentation.
- Technicians: Stories from techs in fire and mechanical who spend less time on paperwork and get home on time.
